The business of Walkers has been closely interwoven with the historical development of the plantation industry in Sri Lanka. The companywas a pioneer in the design and manufacture of machinery for the tea and rubber industries and with the passage of time and the growth ofthe industry, the company has commanded a leading position in the development and manufacture of modern machinery.
The innovative production of the AUTOMATED TEA ROLLER is one of latest contributions to the tea industry.Being the only company in Sri Lanka that could re-shell large sugar rollers, the needs of the sugar cane industry have been met. All this activity is supported by a well established workshop which comprises a machine shop, assembly bay, fabrication and plate workshop.The export market for tea rollers has been tapped with tea rollers being exported to countries such as India, Rwanda and Vietnam.The Company has to its credit the construction and electrifi cation of a number of tea factories in Sri Lanka.
